Valley Tree uses double ground wood chips two to three inches thick around the root system. Mulching has been proven to help with water retention and reduce water runoff. It also introduces beneficial microorganisms, moderates soil temperature, keeps weeds down which mitigates weed whacker/lawn mower damage, and reduces soil compaction.
